My name is Megan and I am a sophomore here at UB. I come from a very small town and graduated in a class of 115, which made Buffalo seem as though it was an entirely different world than the one from which I came, but I love it. I originally came to UB having been recruited for the Varsity Track and Field program, but then decided that I wasn't up for the challenges and the expectations that came with being a Division I student-athlete. I am currently a communications major with a minor in media studies. I am also working towards my journalism certificate which is the reason why I am enrolled in COM 125.
As I mentioned before, I come from a very small town where it is said that the population of cows exceeds the population of people. I love country music, horses, pickup trucks, cowboy boots, I've never even been on a plane let alone in an airport, and yes, I've milked a cow. So, I'm pretty much as country as you can get minus my slight obsession with designer purses (who cares if they're from Canal Street in NYC, right?). I am a very family oriented person and am a middle child among 3. Both of my siblings are brothers, one of whom just competed in the Division III Diving Nationals in Texas this past spring and the other and younger one of the two has yet to graduate from high school. Growing up in a male-dominated house I've learned to love playing video games, to tolerate Sportscenter all day everyday, and all the rules and then some to football, whether I wanted to know them or not, but I've pretty much learned to love it all.
I am very excited to see what this class will have to offer me in terms of learning more about the internet and possibly web design, seeing as though 2 of my friends are currently designing a site for Buffalo, which they talk about endlessly, and I never really have a clue what they're talking about! It's actually pretty impressive and has a lot of information about what the city has to offer if you'd like to check it out. I have never blogged before so this should be interesting and I'm hoping that all of you will have nothing but good things to say!

Your senior class was huge -- there were only 32 students in mine... ;) Good luck this semester!
